After the Dongguan Line Expansion, Processing Order Has Changed

The expansion changed the order, not the number of stations. Why vacuuming now precedes boxing, why QC moved to arrival day, and what merging hangtag and labeling saved.

The expansion did not add steps, it changed their order

When a processing line expands, the visible change is capacity — more stations, more throughput per shift. The useful change is subtler: the sequence in which your goods are worked on.

Order matters more than people expect. Two steps done in the wrong sequence means redoing the first one.

Vacuuming now happens before boxing, not after

This was the biggest sequence change. Previously boxed goods could go to vacuuming, which meant the finished carton had to be opened, the item extracted, compressed and re-boxed.

Doing it the other way round compresses the goods while they are still loose, so the packing step is the last one. Nothing gets opened afterwards.

Step Old sequence New sequence
Vacuuming After boxing Before boxing
Boxing Before compression Final step
Reopening needed Sometimes No

If your goods are soft, bulky or textile, this is the single change that removes the most rework.

QC moved to arrival day

Quality inspection used to sit in the middle of the production sequence — after inbound, before packing. It now happens on the day the goods arrive.

The logic is not subtle. A defect found on arrival affects one carton. A defect found after labelling, packing and staging for export affects everything that came after it, including the packing material.

Defect found Blast radius
On arrival That carton
After labelling Everything in the batch
After packing and staging Plus rework, plus re-labelling

Nothing about the inspection got more detailed. It just moved earlier, where the blast radius is smaller.

Labeling and hangtag swap now happen together

These two used to be separate operations, each with its own queue. They are now handled at the same station in one pass.

For apparel and accessories this is the difference between opening a polybag twice and opening it once. For sellers shipping from a factory where hangtags are already wrong, this removes a step rather than adding one.

Photo and QC are the two people often forget

Photo is one of the 14 value-added services and it is the one most likely to be forgotten, because nobody asks for it until a return dispute appears. At that point the goods have been gone for a while.

Same with QC. Both are cheap relative to a dispute. Both are almost impossible to reconstruct later.

What has not changed

All processing runs at the inbound end. It does not occupy additional time at the back end, which means adding a processing requirement does not push your dispatch date out by the same amount.

Dongguan sits next to Shenzhen, in the middle of the manufacturing belt. That location is why deep processing, assembly, rework and QC exist here at all — most of the surrounding goods were made within a short drive. What we do not do is split business between warehouses for the sake of it; the network is chosen on geography.

Service Typical use Where it runs

Vacuuming Soft and bulky goods Inbound end, before boxing
Boxing Packing for export Inbound end, last step
Gift wrapping Gifting orders Inbound end
QC Inspection Inbound end, arrival day

FAQ

Q: Does adding processing delay my dispatch? A: No. Processing runs at the inbound end, not at the back end, so a processing requirement does not push dispatch out by the same amount.

Q: Which processing does my category usually need? A: Apparel and accessories tend to need hangtag swap and labeling together. Soft and bulky goods need vacuuming. Anything that has been returned needs QC and photo before it can be listed again. The 14 services are listed on our facts page.

Q: Can you handle a supplier that sends generic labels? A: Yes, relabeling is one of the services. But the better fix is at the factory — a supplier conversation costs less than a per-order fee forever.

Q: Why Dongguan rather than another warehouse? A: Location. Dongguan sits next to Shenzhen in the middle of the manufacturing belt, so most surrounding goods were made within a short drive. Which of our four warehouses suits your goods still depends on origin, destination and lane.

Q: Do all four warehouses have the expanded line? A: Ask before you ship. Capacity and service availability differ by location — send us your products and destination through our contact page and we will confirm which location runs your processing.
